Erasmus+

Take the opportunity to apply for international exchanges, placements, training programmes and more! Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. With a budget of some €26 billion, Erasmus+ offers more mobility and cooperation opportunities than ever before. You can apply as an individual or as an organisation.

ELEVATE Research Exchange Programme

As an early or mid-career researcher with a keen interest in developing and assessing climate policy-relevant pathways, you can apply for the ELEVATE Research Exchange Programme. The Programme aims at enabling early and mid-career researchers to visit one of the ELEVATE partner institutions and interact with people from different cultural and educational backgrounds.

Mobility grants from the Institut français de Suède

Deadline: 2 November

As a PhD student or PhD holder established in a Swedish institution, you can apply for two different mobility grants to carry out research in France during 2026!

– The SFVE-A programme (Svensk Fransk Vetenskap–Anslag) aims to promote scientific and academic cooperations between France and Sweden. Apply for up to 15,000 SEK to participate in a mobility programme between both countries in 2026. The grant can be used either for short visits or as complementary funding.

– The France Excellence Research grant gives researchers at a Swedish institution the opportunity to to carry out research and/or have access to scientific equipment in France for a minimum of three weeks and a maximum of three months. The amount of the grant is 1704€ or 2055€ per month (depending on the applicant’s seniority), and gives access to housing at preferential rates.

Travel grants from the Wenner-Gren Foundation 2026

Deadline: 10 March 2026
Deadline: 1 October 2026

Twice a year

Researchers under 40 who earned their doctorate by the application deadline can apply for funding for shorter travels to in international congresses, symposia, workshops, or courses abroad.

Eva de la Gardie residency programme 2025

As a Doctoral graduate from a Swedish institution, you can apply for The Eva de la Gardie programme, and go to Paris! The programme corresponds to a one month stay in Paris, and a maximum award of SEK 15,000.

North2north exchange programme 2026/2027

Opens 15 December 2025
Deadline: 15 January 2026

Yearly

Via the north2north exchange programme, you can study for a semester at a university located in the Nordic countries, northern USA, Canada, France or the United Kingdom. You pay no tuition fee and there are scholarship possibilities. Which universities you can apply to can vary from year to year.

Get funding for culture-related trips in the Nordic-Baltic regions 2026

Yearly

This funding is part of the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture, and aims fund more sustainable trips to strengthen artistic and cultural cooperation in the Nordic and Baltic regions.

The funding supports different types of trips. For example:

  • a collaboration with colleagues in another Nordic and/or Baltic country
  • a guest play
  • an exhibition
  • participation in a conference, meeting or workshop
  • research

Travel grants from the Kempe Foundations 2026

Yearly

As a teacher, researcher or PhD student at Umeå University, you can apply for travel grants from Stiftelsen J C Kempes Minnes Akademiska fonder I and II. The total amount of funding for 2025 is SEK 538,712 from the following foundations:

Stiftelsen J C Kempes Minnes Akademiska forskningsfond – Kempe II: 206 039 SEK 

Per Olof Edin Research and Travel Grants 2026

Yearly

Världsinfektionsfonden announces research and travel grants of up to 25,000 SEK for research on global infectious diseases. This grant is directed towards young researchers registered at a Swedish university, at least at the master’s or Ph.D. level.
