Knowledge Centre for Disaster Medicine

The Knowledge Centre in Disaster Medicine (KcKM) is a centre f knowledge in the field of disaster medicine. We are a research group working in separate premises on the campus (KBC building). KcKM has been developed together with the National Board of Health and Welfare and aims to conduct research on disaster medicine and to train staff in emergency services and ambulance care to provide the best possible care to people affected by serious accidents.

About us

To stimulate research and development in disaster medicine, the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare’s Crisis Preparedness Unit has initiated and supported developments across various areas of the disaster medicine field. Expertise in disaster medicine forms the basis for the healthcare system’s management of major incidents and disasters.

Anton Westman and Lina Gyllencreutz are the centre directors, sharing responsibility for the centre’s operations. Both Anton and Lina are docents and work with the centre’s goals and research.
