Paul Erd艖s was one of the most prolific mathematicians and producers of mathematical conjectures of the 20th century.
He published around 1500 mathematical papers during his lifetime.
He believed that mathematics was a social activity, he had over 500 coauthors, and lived an eccentric life.
Every mathematician has an Erd艖s number, defined to be the number of steps in the shortest path between the mathematician and Erd艖s in terms of co-authorships.
