Publish open access free of charge
If you are conducting research at Umeå University, you can publish your work open access in numerous journals without having to pay a publishing fee (APC, article processing charge). This is possible thanks to agreements that the library and, in some cases, research funding bodies have concluded with several publishers.
Find journals included in the agreements
In the search tool for journals included in the agreements, you can search by title, ISSN and subject. The search tool will give you an overview of the journals' publishing model and licence options, as well as links to more information about each agreement.

Who is covered by the agreements?
To be able to use the agreements, three basic requirements must be fulfilled:
- You must be a corresponding author (i.e. the one handling communication with the publisher).
- Your affiliation with Umeå University must be stated in the published article.
- The research must primarily be conducted at Umeå University.
For publishers to identify you as affiliated with Umeå University, you should also:
- state Umeå University as your organisation; and
- use your email address ending in @91传媒在线 (contact the library if you do not have such an email address).
In addition to these fundamental conditions, each agreement may have further terms and conditions. Therefore, you must always check the terms and conditions of the specific publisher in question when using an agreement.
