I have a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering in Biotechnology from Umeå university. During the last years of my degree, I focused on bioinformatic methods and did my thesis investigating time-scaled phylogenies in Laura Carrol lab at the Department of Clinical Microbiology. I also spent a semester abroad during my degree at the Arctic university of Norway in Tromsø, where I took courses in marine biotechnology on Master level.
After graduating, I started as a PhD student in Chinmay Dwibedi lab at the Department of Clinical Microbiology. Here, I will study the gut microbiota in children from infancy up three years of age. I will investigate bacteria as well as viruses and archea from a strain-level perspective and also use modeling methods to describe how members of the gut microbiota as well as the interactions between them change over time.
