Ilian Giordano Ponce-Pineda is a postdoctoral researcher at the Umeå Plant Science Centre (UPSC). He obtained his PhD in Biochemistry from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). His research focuses on chloroplast development and plastid-to-nucleus communication in plants, with particular interest in the molecular mechanisms that coordinate nuclear and plastid gene expression during early plant development.
