I am a Lecturer at Umeå School of Architecture and the Deputy Head of the Department. Since 2024 I hold a PhD position; investigating models for resilience both in the rural and urban context.
I am a Lecturer in Architecture at Umeå School of Architecture with an interest in local communities in both urban and rural settings to understand and build on social infrastructures, integration of local production with specific focus on food and water systems through the research project Designing Cycles at 64°, eco-systems and re-use/adaptation of the existing fabric. Since 2019 I also have the role of Deputy Head at the department, Head of Education and with specific responsibility for external collaborations.
Before joining UMA in 2015 I was working as a practicing architect in the UK with projects ranging from small-scale conversions to larger mixed-use schemes and urban public spaces. I studied Architecture at Chalmers, Gothenburg and ENSAPLV, Paris and Professional Practice (Part III) at Southbank University, London.
2021-2023 I was working with the Vinnova funded research project Designing Cycles at 64° – with the aim to investigate the potentials for integrated, up-scaled models and prototypes for local food production as well as water and energy systems in the urban fabric, specifically dealing with the conditions of a sub-arctic climate and how building extensions and envelopes can become productive. In my current work with my PhD thesis I have continued this work by investigating the building, neighbourhood and urban district scale.
