Abstract (på engelska): A rather attractive idea is that death is not only harmful, but harmful in some special or distinctive way. We formulate two desiderata for a distinctiveness thesis about the harm of death. Several suggestions in the literature, we argue, violate those desiderata. We propose another distinctiveness thesis, which satisfies both desiderata. It appeals to the claim that a dead person has no well-being level.
