Fund manager DIF Capital Partners is investing in US fibre platform Joink.
The manager said its DIF CIF II fund has agreed to invest in Joink to help expand the telecommunications infrastructure company鈥檚 fibre optic network to residential and enterprise customers at a much faster pace.
Financial details were undisclosed.
Joink currently provides enterprise fibre, residential fibre, and fixed wireless services in Western Indiana and Eastern Illinois.
Willem Jansonius, partner and head of investments for the DIF CIF strategy, said Joink鈥檚 approach to investing in residential fibre infrastructure fits DIF鈥檚 ambition to invest in the US fibre industry.
鈥淚n addition to creating local jobs, this investment helps bridge the digital divide in online education, remote employment opportunities, telemedicine and other prospects afforded by broadband access.鈥
