Digital Colony, which entered the UK market in August, has expanded its digital infrastructure platform with the acquisition of Open Cell.
The mobile and internet infrastructure investor said its affiliate has acquired Open Cell for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition was funded by Digital Colony鈥檚 existing equity commitment to its UK in-building wireless platform.
Open Cell provides multi-operator indoor coverage for a variety of UK customers, building types and sizes.
The company said it plans to merge the Open Cell business with Stratto, which was acquired a couple of moths ago. Open Cell鈥檚 owners/management will become shareholders in the combined company, while Digital Colony will remain the majority shareholder.

Digital Colony is a joint venture between the digital infrastructure firm Digital Bridge Holdings and US real estate investor Colony NorthStar.
