Heitman鈥檚 Irish self-storage platform U-Store It has added a new site to its portfolio.
Heitman said it has acquired the self-storage site in Galway as a bolt-on acquisition for U-Store It which was acquired in 2022.
The Galway property comprises 72,000sqft, in addition to approximately 36,000sqft for potential future expansion.
Tony Smedley, managing director and head of European private equity at Heitman, said: 鈥淗eitman has been investing in self-storage assets in Europe since 2008 and in North America since 1996.
鈥淭his acquisition is consistent with our strategy to strengthen Heitman鈥檚 reach in Ireland, a regional market that has been historically characterised by limited competition.鈥�
