Teachers Retirement System (TRS) of the State of Illinois is investing $100m (鈧�83m) alongside the $20bn Brookfield Infrastructure Fund IV fund.
The pension fund said it has approved the capital to the Brookfield Infrastructure Fund IV Renewable Sidecar-B sidecar fund.
The pension fund told 91传媒在线 that investment 鈥漮pportunities within the renewable sector of infrastructure have been growing over time and this strategy fits within the system鈥檚 existing strategic plan and risk profile鈥�.
Last year, TRS Illinois Teachers approved a $250m commitment to Brookfield Fund IV, a fund seeking investments in renewable, transportation, utilities, energy and data assets.
raised $20bn for its global infrastructure fund in February last year, exceeding its original $17bn fundraising target as a result of strong investor demand.
The predecessor BIF III fund closed in 2016 with $14bn.
