Ontario Teachers鈥 Pension Plan has entered the Swedish residential market by acquiring two assets through a newly created partnership with local partner Gordion.
The Canadian pension fund said it has agreed to acquire the residential properties in Nacka and Sollentuna, within the Greater Stockholm area from SBB.
The assets, which comprise 20,500sqm of lettable area across 425 residential units, are being acquired for an unspecified amount.
The transaction, being made with real estate investment firm Gordion, further expands the pension fund鈥檚 real estate presence in the Nordics, following its recent logistics deals in Sweden and Denmark.
Jenny Hammarlund, senior managing director for real estate at Ontario Teachers鈥, said: 鈥淭his is a milestone investment for our real estate platform as we expand into Sweden鈥檚 residential sector. The acquisition aligns with our long-term goal of building a resilient, diversified housing portfolio in one of Europe鈥檚 most attractive urban markets.
