OMERS Infrastructure – Jenine Krause has been appointed to the role of senior managing director, portfolio management and operations. In this role, Krause will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the OMERS Infrastructure global operating strategy. Krause will report to Michael Hill, the global head of infrastructure, and will join the infrastructure management committee and infrastructure investment committee. Krause will continue to be based in Toronto. Krause succeeds Reena Carter, who was recently appointed CFO at HOOPP, after over 20 years at OMERS. Krause joined OMERS Infrastructure as an asset management managing director in September 2022, having previously been CEO at Enercare, and after spending 11 years in senior roles at Bell Canada.
M&G Real Estate&²Ô²ú²õ±è;–&²Ô²ú²õ±è;Simon Ellis has been appointed manager of the M&G European Property Fund with Marc Reijnen taking on a broader role to lead its continental European real estate platform. This follows David Jackson’s decision to retire after 43 years with M&G. Reijnen, who currently leads M&G’s continental European real estate investment and asset management teams, now assumes overall responsibility for the leadership and strategic direction of the European (ex UK) platform. As part of a long-term succession plan, Ellis and Jackson have worked together for 17 years, with Ellis appointed as deputy fund manager in 2015 and co-fund manager in 2023.
Cushman & Wakefield&²Ô²ú²õ±è;—&²Ô²ú²õ±è;Steve Plavin is set to become non-executive chairman of Cushman & Wakefield’s board, filling the position left by the retiring Brett White. Plavin is retiring from his current role as head of Europe for Blackstone real estate debt strategies at the end of July. Prior to his current role, Plavin served as CEO of Blackstone Mortgage Trust. Prior to his tenure at Blackstone, Plavin held the position of CEO at Capital Trust and CT Investment Management. Additionally, Plavin served as global co-head of commercial real estate finance and banking at Chase Bank, formerly Chemical Bank; and Chase Securities. He has extensive experience on public company boards, including Blackstone Mortgage Trust, CT, Omega Healthcare Investors and as non-executive chairman of WCI Communities. Susan Daimler, who recently stepped down as president of Zillow, will also join as an independent director. Daimler joined Zillow in 2012 and became president in 2021. Prior to becoming president, Daimler was the senior vice president over the premier agent business and the general manager of StreetEasy. Before joining Zillow, Daimler co-founded Buyfolio, a co-shopping platform for real estate agents and homebuyers, which was acquired by Zillow in 2012, and prior to that she co-founded the travel website SeatGuru, which was acquired by Expedia in 2007. She also serves on the board of directors for PubMatic. Timothy Wennes will join the firm as an independent director. Wennes most recently held the roles of country head of Santander US and president and CEO of Santander Holdings US and Santander Bank NA. Prior to Santander, Wennes held executive positions at MUFG Union Bank NA, Countrywide Bank and Wells Fargo. Wennes also previously served on the board of directors of Santander Holdings USA and Santander Bank NA.
Hospitality Ventures Management – Jessica Myers has been appointed vice president of finance and accounting. Myers will lead the corporate team responsible for publishing monthly financial statements in her new role, ensuring the right processes are consistently executed to deliver timely and accurate financial statements. Myers previously served as vice president of finance for Pyramid Global Hospitality. Before that, she held multi-property finance leadership roles in Houston and the Chicagoland area with Pearl Hospitality, White Lodging and Hyatt Corporation. Her hospitality journey began in 1996 as a PBX operator at the Hyatt Lodge on the McDonald’s Corporate Campus.
Fengate Asset Management – Darcy Wilson has been appointed managing director, transportation. Wilson will lead the transportation strategy to bring the firm’s aviation, road, rail, logistics and maritime expertise to projects and companies across the US and Canada. Prior to joining Fengate, Wilson was with Duration Capital Partners where he was a founding member upon its spin out of Oaktree Capital Management. He previously led Oaktree’s investments in Signature Aviation, OTG Management and STG Logistics, and served on the board of STG Logistics. Prior to Oaktree, Wilson was with Highstar Capital and JP Morgan’s investment banking group in New York.
Global Medical REIT – Mark Decker Jr has been appointed as the company’s CEO and president. Decker, who will join the board of directors, succeeds Jeffrey Busch, who will continue to serve on the board as non-executive chairman. Decker joins the company from Proterra Investment Partners, where he founded and co-led their net lease real estate investment strategy. Prior to Proterra, Decker served as president, CEO, trustee and CIO at Centerspace for almost seven years. Prior to joining Centerspace, Decker served as MD and US group head of real estate investment and corporate banking at BMO Capital Markets.
Newmark – Emily Roberton has been appointed joint head of the firm’s UK business rates practice, responsible for strategy and business development. Joining Simon Green in leading the firm’s national platform, she will focus on the continued growth of the team, working closely with key clients to further advance Newmark’s business rates service. Roberton will focus on client performance and operational excellence across the national team of rating surveyors. She will be responsible for delivering coordinated, end-to-end rating advisory services across the UK. Roberton joins Newmark from BNP Paribas Real Estate, where she served as senior director and national head of business rates.
infinitSpace – Heiko Himme has been appointed head of real estate for continental Europe, marking a significant step in the company’s strategic expansion across the continent. Himme joins infinitSpace after serving as international partner and head of Berlin at Cushman & Wakefield, and prior to that as VP and head of real estate for Germany, Nordics and Central & Eastern Europe at WeWork. His career also includes senior roles at DTZ and founding his own advisory firm, Himme Consulting.
Tioga Capital – Taylor Moister has joined the firm as managing director. In this role, Moister will lead key initiatives across Tioga’s real estate investment platform with a particular focus on debt and equity opportunities across the Sun Belt. Moister brings 17 years of institutional investment experience to his new role, most recently working for Lone Star Funds in New York, where he was responsible for sourcing, underwriting and managing US real estate investments across both debt and equity strategies.
CBRE – Marco Hekman has been promoted to chairman, advisory services, continental Europe and UK & Ireland. Hekman, CBRE’s continental Europe leader since 2016, has guided the company to strong growth across the region. With this promotion, the leader of CBRE’s UK & Ireland business, a position currently held by Ciaran Bird, will report to Hekman. Earlier this year, CBRE announced that Bird was stepping down and his successor, when named, will report to Hekman. A specialist in real estate capital markets, Hekman previously served as CBRE’s chairman of EMEA capital markets, where he established and expanded a network of trusted client relationships across the region and in North America. Hekman joined CBRE in 1988 and was appointed managing director of the Netherlands in 2000. Eoin Bastible has been appointed head of real estate investment banking advisory. In this newly created role, Bastible will take on responsibility for the firm’s UK investment banking and equity placement services. Bastible has been with the firm for almost two years, where he has held the position of managing director within the investment banking team. Prior to this, he was partner at Sera Global, which was acquired by CBRE in 2023. He has also held positions at UBS, Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking and Avestus Capital Partners.
WDP – Christoph Telker is to lead the firm’s new office in Germany as country manager, effective 1 September. Telker was managing director Germany at DLH Deutsche Logistik.
