Associate professor in Social work whose research mainly concerns the governing of safety and gendered violence from feminist & (post)colonial perspectives.
I work as an Associate professor at the department of Social Work and have a PhD in political science. My research primarily focuses on how social and power related problems such as safety, gender equality and gendered violence are addressed in policy and practice. I am particularly interested in critical, feminist and (post)colonial perspectives of these issues and am currently leading two research projects and is participating researcher in a third:
During my post-doc position I was the main researcher in the project "Violence against Sámi women" (2022-2024, the Sámi parliament in Sweden).
In my dissertation "", from 2022 I examined how (un)safety in public space is addressed and given meaning as a political problem.
I am also affiliated to the research group Lávvuo - research and education for Sámi health, to Umeå Centre for Gender Studies and to the Arctic Centre at Umeå University.
