I work as an Associate professor at the department of Social Work and have a PhD in political science. My research primarily focuses on how social and power related problems such as safety, gender equality and gendered violence are addressed in policy and practice. I am particularly interested in feminist, (post)colonial and Indigenous perspectives in these issues and am currently working with four different research projects:

In my dissertation "", from 2022 I examined how (un)safety in public space is addressed and given meaning as a political problem.

I am affiliated to the research group Lávvuo - research and education for Sámi health, to Umeå Centre for Gender Studies and to the Arctic Centre at Umeå University.
