has promoted Deepa Bharadwaj to take over from Christian Seymour who will be retiring as head of Europe infrastructure.
Bharadwaj joined IFM in 2017 and has extensive global expertise in the infrastructure and energy sectors, having worked in the US, Asia and the EMEA.
She moved to London in 2019, where she currently has senior-level responsibility for managing IFM鈥檚 infrastructure operations, including fundraising, sourcing investment opportunities, transaction execution, asset management, and developing client relationships, IFM said.
Before joining IFM, Bharadwaj worked at Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore in a number of senior leadership roles.
鈥淭his is a challenging time for the global economy, but it also presents significant opportunities for infrastructure investment, including in areas like renewables and the transition to a low-carbon economy,鈥 Bharadwaj said.
She will lead IFM鈥檚 infrastructure business in Europe following the retirement of Seymour.
Seymour joined IFM in 2004 and has been instrumental in establishing IFM鈥檚 European base in London in 2006. During that time, he has helped oversee investments in major European infrastructure assets, such as Arqiva, Naturgy, and M6toll, while growing IFM鈥檚 presence in Switzerland and the Netherlands.
IFM said Seymour will remain with the company as a senior advisor and take over responsibility for IFM鈥檚 peer review team.
Kyle Mangini, the head of IFM Investors global infrastructure, said: 鈥淒eepa is a fantastic leader who has the experience, skillset and investor-focused mindset that will help drive our growth ambitions in Europe 鈥 a vital market for IFM.鈥
Seymour said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 been a great honour to work at IFM and play a part in its extraordinary global growth. I wish Kyle, Deepa and the team every success and I鈥檓 pleased to be able to continue supporting IFM as a senior advisor in the years ahead.鈥
