Charlie Haase will replace Jeremy Stewardson as the CEO of the Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles (ANREV) next week.

Stephen Tross, ANREV chair and CIO of international investments at Bouwinvest, wrote to members today announcing Haase鈥檚 appointment after a 鈥渢horough and extensive global search鈥.

Haase was most recently managing director in charge of client relationship management at Aetos Japan, an affiliate of US investment manager Aetos.

From 2003 to 2012, he was a real estate investment officer at California State Teachers鈥 Retirement System, closely involved in the pension fund鈥檚 investments in Asia-Pacific, before moving to Japan to join the Tokyu Fudosan group.

Haase will relocate to Hong Kong to take up his position at the ANREV head office, but he will also spend time at the ANREV鈥檚 new office being established in Singapore.

Tross said Haase had flagged his keenness to work on growing the Association鈥檚 coverage in Asia-Pacific.

The new CEO will be working closely with Stewardson during a handover period.

Tross credited Stewardson for leading ANREV through its development phase starting back in 2009 and latterly during the challenging times of the pandemic when 鈥渁daptability and perseverance鈥 had proven to be key.
