Henley has moved into the UK build-to-rent (BTR) sector with a newly launched 拢300m (鈧344.1m) investment strategy and the appointment of a team led by Jonathon Ivory.

The $3bn (鈧2.66bn) global private equity real estate manager has appointed the former managing director Atlas Residential to lead the team which will focus on the acquisition, development, asset management and operation of BTR assets throughout the UK.

Prior to Atlas, Ivory held positions at the real estate investment bank Carlton Group, specialist property developer The Raven Group and Legal & General.

Ian Rickwood, CEO of Henley Investments, said: 鈥淚vory brings with him an extensive track record and impressive expertise. This will be put to good effect as we seek to capitalise on this growing sector and service the increased demand for high-quality rental accommodation of varying price points throughout the UK.鈥

Justin Meissel, CIO and managing director Europe, Henley Investments, said: 鈥淚vory and his team鈥檚 expertise perfectly compliment Henley鈥檚 extensive investment, development and operational experience.

鈥漈his marks a significant step towards realising Henley BTR鈥檚 ambitions in the UK rental residential sector, and is a natural extension of our firm鈥檚 capabilities.鈥

Founded in 2006, Henley launched its first fund in August 2017 to target the UK鈥檚 supported-housing sector.
